Cantiere del Pardo keeps the hull in the mould for 10 days while it assembles the iron structure, adjusts the centreboard and rudder, installs the engine, electrics and plumbing, assembles the interiors and laminates the deck. This system eliminates any further twisting of the assembly. The hull is composed of 12 layers of unidirectional fabric with vinylester resin and isophthalic gel coat. The iron structure is composed of a central beam on which the mast, centreboard and engine sit. With 5 transverse ribs, on which the bulkheads sit. A stainless steel reinforcement joins the standing rigging to this structure. The deck is laminated to the hull with epoxy resin. All deck fittings are bolted to stainless steel plates previously laminated to the deck. This results in a solid, robust and compact assembly, which defines the sailing characteristics and durability of this boat.
